Form Verses Creativity ~ Candlelight

David of The skeptic’s kaddish and I began a fun poetry partnership in April. We just celebrated writing together a 100 verse renga, The Hyakuin 🙂 And within days, decided we would absolutely love to continue our writing collaboration and what has grown to be a warm friendship with a new poetry project.

We’ve decided to explore poetry forms, one each from A to Z. Each week one of us chooses a poetry form the other responds to. David suggested we title it Form verses creativity 🙂 This week,  were writing – The Candlelight. We’d love it if you want to respond with a Candlelight of your own!

My Candlelight to David

Orange evening sky
gently dropping by
in infinite grace
a warm embrace
to bless the day
and to say
a few words
to touch
your hearts
our
sweet
friends
as
you
read
this
flicker of a Candlelight

David’s response

Second candle lit;
two little flames flit,
dancing, cheerful twins ~
Shabbat begins,
our day of rest.
You = our guests;
please come
in for
dinner.
We
are
so
glad
you
could
make
it this evening… How are you?
