You won't remember this
but I will
Your little hands clutched mine
Your toothless smile screamed delight
Your voice plays inside me still
I know I know you're all grown up now
And can't understand exactly why
You still reach for that apple pie
It's got calories, but you can't resist it somehow
You travel the earth to search and find
The wonder and grace in the infinity
You pause and you find familiarity
Whenever your childhood melds your heart and mind
You won't remember this but I will
You would seek out joy in all the little things
When you were just a little being
That beautiful light lives in you still

It lives in us all, that we may water it. 🙏🏼
