Getting lost is not a waste of time

kirigirisu ~ haiku

chorus from the wings

katy-did-she-didn’t-she-did

green big bug singing

*

kirigirisu

serenading camouflaged

it just ain’t cricket

*

broadcast from bushes

nature’s night club naughtiness

now everyone knows

    • Thank you for taking time to read and write in.
Apparently they’re nocturnal…and it’s so good to know you live among silver maples…wow
Note – my academic knowlege on the bug is limited to those syllables 😄

      • I’ve never been afraid of bugs. I was a Tom-boy. And raised two sons 😉

I’ve got silver maples (not the syrup maple tree), various pines, other hardwoods, and some bird berry trees. And my old willow down by the creek 🙂

        • 😍 I can imagine your loving your space. I live among lots of mango trees and parakeets and squirrels and a bunch of noisy peacocks …and yeah…that’s grace

  1. Loved it. I remember, at least once, walking in the veld, at dusk. Heard a cacophony and traced it to a katydid which fell silent as I drew near. His/her need was so great it started up again never mind the intruder on its private business! Did laugh. I live in South Africa, so yes, they’re pretty global.

    • Imagine it’s not even their voice and it could be just the one making such a racket.
I’ve walked in the mountains and forests and cold desert…but Walking in the veld…that sounds divine 😊 putting that on my to do list. Thanks for reading and writing in
